A brand director for a well-known North East firm is making a new home in the beauty of the Derwent Valley as one of the newest residents of The Courtyard at Axwell Park Estate.

Mark Tinnion (38) has purchased one of the sought after two-bedroom apartments at The Courtyard to create a new home for himself at the unique development of 27 new build apartments and townhouses.

Mark comments: “Last year I was going through a great deal of changes in my life and after the end of a relationship I wanted to find a new home which suited my lifestyle and supported my work commitments.

“I used to drive past Axwell Park Estate every day on my way to work so I knew the location well and often wondered what was beyond the trees that lined the road.  It always looked so inviting and not dissimilar to the entrance of a rural country estate with a really exclusive feel.  As I’ve never owned a property on my own I knew I wanted a place which had character but was as low maintenance as possible and when I drove through the trees and came face to face with the Courtyard, I knew this would be the perfect place to call home.”

Mark purchased a two bedroom apartment at The Courtyard, with views overlooking the Derwent Valley and the grade II* listed Axwell Hall.  The apartments feature heritage style sash windows which mirror the Georgian architecture of the nearby hall, once the grand family home of the Clavering family set over 35 acres of private parkland.

The unique style and original features of the Courtyard were shortlisted recently in the 2016 RICS Renaissance Awards in recognition of the high quality construction and residential design of the townhouses and apartments.

Mark continues: “One of the main attractions for me at The Courtyard was the juxtaposition between rural, country-style living but only 5 minutes drive from the Metrocentre.  I had looked at a number of apartments and houses in central Newcastle prior to buying and not one offered the flexibility of lifestyle I was looking for as I needed somewhere quite private and tucked away but with the added advantages of being able to walk to the pub.

“There is nothing quite like the feeling of peace when you turn onto the road leading up to Axwell Park.  I can leave the city and all it’s stresses behind as I retreat into the privacy of the estate.  It offers a great balance of lifestyle without compromising too much on ease of access for longer commuter times – I’m actually now closer to work than I was previously because of the close proximity of the A1.

“One of the main benefits of the apartments is of course the low maintenance living that comes with a new build home.  I was able to move straight in and I’ve already started looking at ways to make the home my own.  With 35 acres of private parkland quite literally right on my doorstep the Courtyard offers me so much more than just a place to live, it gives me a quality of life that can’t be replicated and I couldn’t be happier making a home at Axwell Park Estate.”

Apartments and houses are now available at The Courtyard priced from £199,950.  For further information on available units and individual floor plans, please contact the Axwell Park Estate sales office on 0191 499 0170 or sales@eightproperty.co.uk / www.axwellpark.co.uk.
