The Development

Within the Park are inspirational places to live, set in a landscape of woodlands and meadow usually found far away from a busy metropolitan hub like Tyneside.

The Axwell Courtyard development commenced in early 2014 and will deliver 27 apartments and townhouses, each offering a modern approach to living framed within a traditional courtyard setting.

The Grade II* listed Axwell Hall is currently undergoing a total restoration and by 2016 will provide a small number of individually designed and exceptionally spacious apartments for sale.

The development of the Axwell Gardens townhouses and the restoration of the associated walled garden is complete, as is the revival of the historic Park.

The Axwell Courtyard
Until the mid-twentieth century, a traditional arrangement of coach houses and stabling stood beside Axwell Hall. Built to complement the grand Hall, it reflected the Palladian architectural style in vogue in the middle of the eighteenth century.

The Axwell Courtyard development will revive the appearance and ambience of that place, with nine two-bedroom apartments housed in three corner Pavilions and eighteen three bedroom townhouses composing the connecting Ranges. These homes all surround the Courtyard, an inviting and elegant place which is warm and sunny, convenient, welcoming, safe and secure.

The residents of The Courtyard are entitled to take full advantage of the Park for recreation and leisure. More than 35 acres in extent, this privately owned parkland has been restored to provide a wonderful natural habitat.

Each property has one private, allocated parking space in close proximity (the majority are inside the Courtyard) which is included in the purchase price. There is an additional parking area for a second car and ample visitor parking.

Mains electricity, gas, water and telephone are connected. A communal satellite dish means that each property is ready for the receiving equipment to be connected.

Purchasers will acquire a 999 year lease, an equal share in the Axwell Courtyard Management Company, and rights to use and enjoy the wider Axwell Park.

A site management regime has been designed to ensure that the Park and all its amenities are effectively maintained.
